Motorcycle Chrome Plating With A True Mirror Finish

Our motorcycle chrome plating brings tired, pitted and corroded parts back to a deep mirror finish. We strip, repair and re-plate using our quad chrome plate process, then collect and deliver your parts nationwide.

Freshly chrome plated motorcycle exhaust and headlamp shell with a mirror finish after restoration

Specialist Chrome Plating For Motorcycles Of Every Kind

We work on classic bikes, vintage motorcycles, custom builds and collector machines, taking on everything from exhausts, headlamp shells and mudguards to forks, brackets and smaller trim pieces. Some parts arrive with light dulling and surface marks, others come to us heavily corroded and pitted after years in a shed or under a cover. Either way, we assess the metal underneath before we commit to anything, because a good chrome finish depends entirely on the condition of the part beneath it. If a piece needs repair work before plating, we tell you, and we have restored parts that most people had already written off. Since 1994 we have completed over 250,000 projects for private collectors, showrooms and enthusiasts across the country.

Send us a few photographs and a description of what you have, and we will tell you what the parts need and what it will cost, including collection and delivery. If something is not worth plating, we will say so before you commit to anything.

What You Get Back From Us

You get parts returned with a deep mirror finish rather than a thin cosmetic coating, because our quad chrome plate process builds the finish up in stages instead of cutting corners. Corrosion is dealt with properly, so you are not looking at fresh pitting a season later. Original parts stay original, which matters if you are keeping a bike period-correct or preserving its value, and it is usually far better than hunting down replacements that may not exist. We collect and deliver nationwide, so you do not need to work out how to crate and ship a set of exhausts yourself. Every job carries a 12 month warranty, and our work is backed by a 5 star rating from 6,754 reviews.

How We Restore Your Chrome

We start by looking at what you have. Send us photographs or talk it through with us, and we will tell you honestly what the parts need and what results you can expect. Once collection is arranged, your parts come into our workshop and we strip the old plating back to bare metal, which is the point where the true condition becomes clear. Any damage, pitting or dents are repaired and the surface is prepared and polished, because plating magnifies whatever is underneath rather than hiding it. Then comes our quad chrome plate process, building the finish in layers to achieve depth and durability. Everything is inspected before it is packed, and we deliver it back to you.

Why Riders And Collectors Trust Us

We have been doing this since 1994 and have over 250,000 completed projects behind us, which means very little that arrives here is unfamiliar to us. We have worked with private collectors, showrooms and automotive enthusiasts on classic cars, vintage motorcycles and bespoke custom vehicles, so we understand the difference between a show finish and a workhorse rebuild, and we are comfortable with rare or irreplaceable parts. We will also tell you when a part is not worth plating, rather than take the work and disappoint you. Our 5 star rating across 6,754 reviews reflects how we prefer to operate, and our 12 month warranty means we stand behind what leaves our workshop.

Re-Plating Your Original Parts Or Buying Replacements

Replacement chrome for older and rarer machines is often hard to find, and what you do find may not fit properly or match the rest of the bike. Re-plating keeps the original part on the machine, which matters for period-correct builds and for the value of the bike. It also means the fit stays right, because it is the component that came off it. Where a part is genuinely too far gone, we will tell you rather than take the work, and you can make the decision with the metal in front of us instead of guessing from a photograph.

What Motorcycle Chrome Plating Costs

Cost depends on the part and the condition it arrives in. A straightforward re-plate on sound metal is a very different job from a corroded exhaust that needs stripping, repair and extensive preparation before it can be plated at all, and size, complexity and the number of pieces all play a part. Rather than quote a figure that changes once we see the metal, we would rather look at your parts first. Send us photographs and a description of what you have, and we will give you a clear quote covering the work needed, including nationwide collection and delivery. There are no surprises added later, and the 12 month warranty is included as standard.

Andrew Kelsall

Classic bike owner, Leeds

The exhausts off my 1978 Bonneville were pitted to the point where two platers had already turned me away. Chromefix stripped them back, repaired the damage and sent them home looking better than the day I bought the bike. They collected and delivered, so I never had to work out how to box up a set of pipes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services and how we can help you

Do I need to strip the parts off the bike before I contact you?

No. Get in touch first with photographs of what you have, even while it is still on the machine, and we will tell you what is worth doing and what it will cost. That way you only take parts off once you know the plan, rather than stripping a bike down and then finding out the work is not viable.

Am I committing to anything by asking for a quote?

Not at all. A quote is simply information. You are free to think it over, come back later, or decide against it entirely. Nothing happens until you tell us you are happy to go ahead, and only then do we arrange collection.

Could the price change once you have the parts in front of you?

We quote on the work we can see, and the figure we give you covers the job including collection and delivery. If something only becomes visible once the old plating is stripped back, we come to you and explain it before any further work is done. You will not receive an invoice with charges on it that you were never told about.

I am part-way through a restoration and not ready yet. Should I still get in touch?

Yes. Plenty of people speak to us months before anything is sent. Knowing what your motorcycle chrome plating will cost helps you plan the rest of the build and decide what to prioritise. Ask now and pick the work up whenever the timing suits you.

These parts are rare and I cannot replace them. How do I know they are in safe hands?

We have been plating since 1994 and have completed over 250,000 projects, a good deal of it for private collectors and showrooms sending pieces that no longer exist anywhere else. We handle collection and delivery ourselves rather than leaving it to chance, every piece is inspected before it is packed, and the work carries a 12 month warranty.

What is the easiest way to start?

Send us photographs of the parts and a short note about the machine they came from. We will come back to you with an honest assessment, a realistic idea of the finish you can expect, and a clear price. From there, the decision is entirely yours.
