Industrial Chrome Plating and Restoration Across the UK
Our industrial chrome plating service restores corroded, pitted and worn metal to a deep mirror finish. We strip, repair and re-plate using our quad chrome plate process, then collect and deliver nationwide.

What Our Industrial Chrome Plating Service Covers
We take on chrome work that most people assume is beyond saving. Bumpers, grilles, trims, handlebars, wheels, engine parts and one-off fabricated pieces all come through our workshop, and we handle each one on its own terms. If the metal underneath is sound, we can strip the old plating back, deal with the pitting, corrosion and dents, then re-plate it to a mirror finish. We work with private collectors, showrooms and automotive enthusiasts on classic cars, vintage motorcycles and bespoke custom builds, and we have been doing it since 1994. Wherever you are in the UK, we can collect your parts and bring them back to you when the work is finished.
Get a Quote for Your Parts
Send us photographs of what you have, along with a few details about the part and its condition, and we will tell you honestly what can be achieved and what it will cost. There is no obligation to go ahead, and if the base metal is too far gone we will say so rather than take the job on. Once you are happy with the quotation, we will arrange collection from your address anywhere in the UK.
Why Re-Plating Beats Replacing
Original parts are often irreplaceable, and pattern replacements rarely fit or look the same. Restoring what you already have keeps your vehicle honest and keeps the panel gaps, mounting points and profiles exactly as they were. Our quad chrome plate process builds the finish up in stages, so you get depth and reflection rather than a thin surface layer, and the repair work happens before plating rather than being covered over by it. You also get a single point of contact for the whole job, nationwide collection and delivery so you are not arranging freight yourself, and a 12 month warranty on the work we complete.

How We Work On Your Parts
It starts with an assessment. We look at the part, check the condition of the base metal and tell you honestly what can be achieved. From there we strip the old chrome and any underlying layers back to bare metal, which is usually when the true extent of the pitting or damage becomes clear. We then carry out the metal repair and polishing work, because the quality of a chrome finish is decided at this stage rather than in the tanks. Once the surface is right, the part goes through our quad chrome plate process, and we inspect it before it is packed and returned to you. We will keep you updated as the work moves along, and if we find something unexpected once the old plating is off, you will hear from us before we go any further.
Send Us The Details
Share photographs of the part and tell us what it came from. We will let you know what is realistic before you commit to anything.
Experience You Can Check
We have completed more than 250,000 projects since 1994, and we hold a 5 star rating from 6,754 reviews. That volume matters because chrome plating is a trade where the difficult jobs teach you the most, and we have seen most of them. Heavily corroded parts, thin or previously botched plating, awkward one-off fabrications, we take the time to work out the right approach rather than turning work away. Our aim on every job is the same, which is a part that comes back looking the way you hoped it would, backed by our 12 month warranty.
Restoring Your Original Parts Or Buying Replacements
Replacement chrome is easy to find for common vehicles and almost impossible for everything else, and pattern parts often sit differently, fit poorly or carry a thinner finish that dulls within a season. Restoring what you already own keeps the original tooling, the original fit and the value that comes with a genuine part. It also means the repair is done in the metal, before any plating goes on, so you are not paying for a shiny layer over unresolved pitting. For rare, discontinued or one-off pieces, re-plating is usually the only route that gives you the part back rather than an approximation of it.
What Chrome Plating Costs
The price depends on the part itself. Size, complexity, the condition of the base metal and how much repair and polishing is needed before plating all affect the work involved, so a lightly tarnished trim piece and a badly pitted bumper are very different jobs. The same applies to quantity, as sets and multi-part jobs are usually more efficient to run together. Send us photographs or details of what you have and we will give you a clear quotation covering the plating, the preparation work and nationwide collection and delivery, so you know where you stand before anything begins.
David Whitcombe
Classic car owner, Warwickshire
“The front and rear bumpers off my Mk2 Jaguar were pitted right through and two restorers had already told me to find replacements. They came back looking better than the day I bought the car, and the collection was arranged so I never had to box anything up myself.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our services and how we can help you
What is the quickest way to get started?
Send us photographs of the parts you have and tell us what vehicle they came from. Clear pictures of the worst areas are more useful to us than a general shot, because that is where we judge the condition of the base metal. From there we will tell you what is realistic and give you a quotation covering preparation, plating and collection and delivery, so you can make a decision with the full figure in front of you rather than a rough estimate.
Am I committed to anything once I ask for a quotation?
No. A quotation is simply information, and plenty of people come to us to find out where they stand before deciding whether to restore a part at all. If you would rather think it over, leave it for a season or explore other options, that is entirely your call. Nothing happens to your parts until you tell us to go ahead.
Is it worth sending a single small part, or do you prefer full sets?
Both are welcome. We handle single trims and badges as readily as complete bumper sets, and we have taken on more than 250,000 projects since 1994, so nothing is too small to be worth a conversation. That said, if you know you will eventually want other pieces done, sending them together is usually more efficient to run through the workshop and simpler for you to plan around.
Do you work with trade customers as well as private owners?
Yes. Alongside private collectors and enthusiasts, we work with showrooms and restorers who need a consistent standard across regular batches of stock. Grilles, trims, badges and larger sets are all handled the same way, with one point of contact for the whole job so you are not chasing several suppliers to track one vehicle's parts.
How should I prepare my parts before collection?
Remove them from the vehicle and take off any rubber, plastic, glass or fixings you can easily separate, then tell us about anything you could not remove. There is no need to clean, polish or attempt any repair yourself, because everything gets stripped back to bare metal at our end anyway. If you are unsure how far to go, ask us first rather than risk damaging a piece that is otherwise sound.
What if I do not know what the part is or what it came from?
Send the photographs anyway. Between classic cars, vintage motorcycles and bespoke custom builds we see a very wide range of components, and we can usually work out what we are looking at and how it should be approached. What matters for the quotation is the size, the shape and the condition of the metal, not whether you can name the part.
How do I look after the finish once the parts are back?
Chrome responds well to simple care. Wash off road salt, dirt and bird lime rather than letting them sit, dry the surface properly and avoid abrasive pastes or wire wool, which will cut into the finish. A soft cloth and a suitable chrome polish used occasionally is enough for most parts. Anything stored over winter is best kept dry rather than wrapped damp.
What if I am not happy with the work when it comes back?
Tell us. Every finished piece is inspected before it is packed and returned, and the work we complete is backed by our 12 month warranty, so if something is not right with the plating we have carried out, come back to us and we will look at it. We would far rather sort out a problem than have you live with a part you are not pleased with.
